AudioSync and Audio Conform

Privacy Policy

Last updated 7 October 2026

This policy covers AudioSync and Audio Conform, plugins for Adobe video applications published by Matre Digital Solutions. It describes the only thing the plugins send us: a small, pseudonymous record of which features get used.

There is no account to create, nothing to log in to, and no profile of you anywhere in our systems. We have written this out in full rather than in summary, because the short version (we count feature usage and nothing else) is easy to say and harder to show.

What we collect

When you use a feature of a plugin, the plugin sends one short record. That record holds four things:

A random installation identifier
Generated on your device when the plugin is installed. It is not derived from your name, your email, your Adobe ID, your machine name, or your hardware, and it is not linked to any account. It exists only so that repeated use from one installation is not counted as many different users.
The name of the feature used
Which command or panel action ran.
The plugin and its version
Which of our plugins sent the record, and which release it came from.
The time it happened
A timestamp for the event.

That is the whole record. There is no fifth field.

What we don't collect

Nothing else leaves your machine. In particular, the plugins never send:

  • your media: no audio, no video, no images, no project files, sequences, clip names, or file paths
  • your name, email address, Adobe ID, or any other account detail
  • your machine name, serial numbers, or hardware identifiers
  • keystrokes, screen contents, or anything you type

We do not use advertising or analytics cookies, we do not track you across websites, and we do not sell the data or pass it to anyone else for their own purposes.

One thing worth naming. Any request sent over the internet carries your IP address. That is how a reply finds its way back. Application Insights uses it to derive an approximate location, at roughly the level of a country or region, and then discards the address itself rather than storing it. We have not enabled the setting that would retain the full address.

Where it goes, and for how long

Records are sent over HTTPS to a service we operate on Microsoft Azure, hosted in the West Europe region (the Netherlands). From there they are written to Azure Application Insights, which is our only store. We keep no database of our own.

Microsoft Corporation acts as our data processor for this service. Their own privacy terms apply to their handling of it: microsoft.com/privacy.

Retention. Usage records are kept for 90 days, after which Application Insights deletes them automatically.

Why we collect it

To see which parts of the plugins are actually used, so that development effort goes to the features people rely on and unused ones can be retired.

Under the GDPR, which applies in Norway through the EEA Agreement, we rely on legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)): understanding how our own software is used, weighed against a minimal, pseudonymous dataset that cannot be connected to you by us or by anyone else.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or object to our use of data relating to you, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In Norway that is Datatilsynet; elsewhere in the EEA or the UK, it is the authority for the country you live in.

An honest limitation. We cannot look you up. The identifier is random and we hold nothing that connects it to a person, so if you contact us we have no way of finding your records unless you tell us the identifier itself. If you want your records removed, contact us at hello@matredigitalsolutions.com and we will explain how to find it. Where we genuinely cannot identify you, data protection law does not require us to collect more information about you purely in order to comply (GDPR Article 11). We will still help where we can.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes affecting what is collected will also be noted in the plugin's release notes on the Adobe Marketplace listing.
